Bipolar disorder is “A disorder associated with episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs.”

Mania Symptoms

-very high energy

-need very little sleep

-high sex drive

-more impulsive

-very high self esteem

-racing thoughts

-speaking a lot

-feeling very elevated

-feeling very touchy

-feeling jumping


Depressive symptoms

-sense of worthlessness

-little interest or pleasure

-suicidal

-depressed

-feeling guilty

-constant crying

-insomnia

-constant tiredness


Misconceptions about bipolar

-it is just mania

-it's just “mood swings”

-everyone that has bipolar is the same

-people are always either in a manic episode or depressive episode

-people with bipolar are dangerous

-they cant have or maintain a job
