What is social cognition?


Social cognition is a topic that shows the various ways we process information (perceive, think, interpret, categorize, and judge others). It relates to how we act in social situations too and why we want to be perceived in certain ways.


How do we develop social cognition?


We develop social cognition through age. As we grow up we become aware of our feelings, motives, mental states, thoughts and also others.


How is social cognition useful?


Social cognition is useful to learn about social signals in our society.


What are the stages of social cognition?


There are three main stages of social cognition including encoding, storage, and retrieval. Encoding is the getting the information into our head. Storage is retaining the information. Retrieval is when the information is getting outside of the brain.
